New Burn Charts Consistent Clarity & Hardened Security
TLDR;
Our focus with this release was adapting our Burn Commitment chart’s presentation following feedback from our Early Adopters. We also made changes to align our data presentation more clearly with the story being shown in Jira.
Additionally, in response to an earlier pen test attack, we focused on hardening the User and Organization models to strengthen customer protection from any future attacks.
What’s New?
Burn Commitment Charts. We previewed the new Burn Commitment chart with our Early Adopter audience and made edits according to their feedback. This new view is designed to display how effectively the project is staying committed to the plan, highlighting where work is on track, at risk, or off track. We also adjusted some language to address areas of potential burnout in less judgmental terms.
The new Burn Commitment Chart tracks your Updated Plan vs your Original Plan, and also shows Committed Work, Work in Progress, and Work Done on Track, At Risk and Off Track.d
Added security levels. We increased our customers’ security by hardening our User and Organization creation models and breaking out role levels. There are now three levels of role for added security: Admin User, Paid Registered User, and Registered User.
Enhancements
Updated branding. We changed the app to display our updated logo for consistent branding. We also added Bloomfilter branding to the sign in/sign up app screen. Additionally, we updated our welcome email branding, and introduced color hex codes into the Burn charts to continue the transition of our look and feel there.

Removed dated language. We edited out all instances of “Healthcheck”- our former name for Early Adopters. There were some lingering labels on our confirmation page and email that have been updated.
Adjusted Sprint chart. Previously the Sprint chart lines were “clipped” at the edges of the chart, disappearing underneath the top and bottom edges of the chart.
Improved Division of Cost financials chart. When customers properly label costs as “Maintenance” work, the Financials page will now more consistently display it as a slice of the Division of Cost chart. The donut-shaped chart now also has an improved display, maintaining its original shape as the user changes time periods.
Improved Division of Cost chart on the Financials Page with a more consistent and comprehensive display.
Added Burn Chart axis labels. For both the new and existing Burn charts, we’ve added labels to the axis to complete the picture.
Generating 405s when needed. To disallow the creation of multiple organizations, we’ve added a 405 “method not allowed” error message. Some of our Early Adopters and testers were attempting to create these on their own to try out the app.
Shrinking Sprint Chart displays. Previously Sprint (Burn) Charts would be cut off if a user shrank their browser window, but these views are now adjusting automatically to the size of the window and screen!
Allowing for Offset Fiscal Quarters. We enabled the front end to account for offset fiscal quarters.
Fixes
Updated Time Zone differences. We completed our review and delivered updates for time zone variations, locking projects, and new user additions.
Updated memoization of data for throughput, velocity, lead, and cycle time in an effort to clarify the similarities and differences between Bloomfilter and Jira for reporting these measures of time and effort.
Deleted Jira tasks are moved to your Bloomfilter archive. Previously, tasks that had been deleted in Jira were being counted as an open issue in Bloomfilter, causing them to be displayed as part of the Performance Assessment. All deleted Jira tasks are now archived in Bloomfilter instead.
Visual Sprint Storytelling
How Jira Tells the Story:
A traditional Sprint chart from Jira, showing a Guideline, Remaining Values, and for context, highlighted non-working days.
How Bloomfilter Tells the Story:
Our Burndown report shows your team burning through your project – charting your Story Points for each Day of the Sprint.
Our new Burn Commitment chart shows how project progress measures up compared to your Original Plan.
We introduced valuable features like error screens, visual representation for non-working days, and enhanced security measures. We also improved the user experience when navigating between Jira boards, and upgraded Bloomfilter with Mantine 6.0 for more design flexibility.
The first of two deployments aimed at supporting multiple active boards per project, i.e. if your Engineering and QA teams work off of different boards. While the work on that more complex feature will carry over into our next release (mid April), we shipped some minor bug fixes in the mean time.
